Synology DS214play Review

Synology DS214playWe found a new review of the Synology DS214play NAS on PCpro UK. The DS214play is a Synology NAS server with two bays and enough power to do media serving and full 1080p HD transcoding on the fly. What this means is that you can use the Synology NAS box to serve your TV or media player such as a Sony Playstation or a Roku running Plex Media Server (as examples). There is no need to run a separate computer to serve media files to your TV or mobile devices.

PCpro thinks the DS214play is a fast NAS:

The DS214play is one of the fastest two-bay NAS drives we've reviewed, but it isn't merely speed that gains this NAS drive an A-List place. In keeping with its predecessors, it's also hugely versatile, with excellent media-streaming capabilities and some of the best cloud features around.
